DAY 1: Maun Cambium Camp Savuti
Your scheduled flight for Maun, Botswana departs from Johannesburg or Cape Town. Upon arrival in Maun, you will clear customs and take a light aircraft charter to Xakanaxa. As soon as you walk off the tarmac you will be met by your Cambium Safaris guide in an open game drive vehicle. Game viewing starts immediately, introducing Guests to a wilderness area vastly diverse and exciting in its fauna & flora. Alternatively, you will be met at the Maun Airport by your Cambium Safaris guide and enjoy a game drive en route to the Savuti game reserve, spotting game along the way. We will stop for a picnic lunch en route. Your private tented camp awaits you with welcome from the Cambium Safaris team.
After luggage identification, you are accompanied by a staff member to your tented accommodation for an orientation of the facilities & familiarization of the camp.
Your insect-proof meru tent with en-suite bathroom will be your home for the next three nights. Hand basins with refreshing warm water are provided.
A safety briefing will be given by your camp manager – bush safety rules & regulations including the ‘do’s & don’ts’ whilst in camp. This brief introduction highlights that wildlife is prevalent in the area and stresses that there are no safety fences enclosing the camp.
A general overview will be given of what guests can expect on a daily basis whilst on safari with us, including camp and activity schedules.
Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire and G&T’s are always made available!
Dinner – Enjoy a superb 3-course Dinner and relax around the campfire listening to the African night symphony.
DAY 2: Cambium Camp Savuti
An early wake-up call by the tent lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK.’ Your choice of tea / coffee or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Bush Walk (optional)
Head out of camp on a morning game drive with your bird books in tow. Keep an eye out for the incredible raptors that inhabit the vast Savuti game reserve. Learn about the nesting and hunting behavior of the African Fish Eagle and examine the fang proof scales of the Brown Snake Eagle through your binoculars.
Lunch at Camp: Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. After lunch you can relax in your tent or have an afternoon siesta. We recommend showers after lunch as this is the warmest part of the day.
High Tea: Tea / coffee, homemade iced tea and lemonade served with something sweet and
something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Depart for a late afternoon game drive in pursuit of the big five. Stop the engine to listen for branches breaking, a clear sign of elephants in the area. Dismount the vehicle and examine lion tracks as you begin to understand the ancient art of tracking. Our incredibly knowledgeable guides will point out the smallest details that would be missed by the untrained eye.
Enjoy a night drive on your way back to camp and look out for the nocturnal animals that may start to appear. Return to camp after dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.
Dinner – Gather for another superb 3-course dinner after which the following day’s activities will be discussed.
DAY 3: Cambium Camp Savuti
An early wake-up call by the tent lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK.’ Your choice of tea/coffee or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Depart for the early morning game drive activity within the Savuti Concession. This wildlife mecca offers the opportunity of fantastic wildlife viewing. Your guide will park the vehicle and lead you on an armed walk through the bush, about an hour long – depending on what you encounter on your adventure. Once back to your vehicle, enjoy a coffee/tea & snack break.
Return to camp around 11-11:30 AM (depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning walk and game drive).
Lunch at Camp: Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. After lunch you can relax in your tent or have an afternoon siesta. We recommend showers after lunch as this is the warmest part of the day.
High Tea: Tea/coffee, homemade ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Head out on a game drive and stop for a guided meditation. Bid farewell to the nocturnal sounds of the Savuti Game Reserve as you refelct on your journey thus far. Watch for lion or leopard hunting under the cover of darkness as your guide scans for game with a spotlight.
Enjoy a night drive on your way back to camp and look out for the nocturnal animals that may start to appear. Return to camp after dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.
Dinner – Gather for another superb 3-course dinner after which the following day’s schedule will be discussed.
DAY 4: Cambium Camp Savuti Cambium Camp Khwai
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
Today we move our camp to Khwai.
We set out on an all-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch en route to Khwai game reserve, enjoying sightings of both predator and prey along the way. Guests will enjoy the thrill that is driving over the sand ridge and enter the Mababe depression en route to Savuti. Drive along the Savuti Marsh on your way to camp where you will spend the next 3 nights.
Arrive in the late afternoon to your newly set up camp, in time for sundowners and a well-deserved bucket shower.
Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire.
Dinner – Enjoy a superb 3-course dinner followed by a campfire serenade of the African night and get familiar with your new surroundings.
DAY 5: Cambium Camp Khwai
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Mokoro Trip (optional)
Depart for the early morning game drive activity, en route to the mokoro station, where you will depart on a 2-hour mokoro trip. Previously, traditional mokoros were cut from an ebony or sausage tree. However, these days they are molded from fiberglass in order to conserve these beautiful big trees. The mokoro is powered by a poler who stands at the back of the canoe with a ngashi or wooden pole. This amazingly stable mokoro will transport you along the vast expanse of deep reed-lined waterways. Once back to your vehicle, enjoy a well deserved coffee/tea & snack break.

AM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Your Cambium Guide and tracking team will set out before the morning activity departs in search of fresh predator tracks. Specifically, we will be looking for lions. With some luck, we will spend the morning taking turns tracking lions on foot. Tracking predators on foot is a truly unique experience and our expert guides help you begin to think and act like a lion!
Return to camp. (Time depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning game drive)
Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. Celebrate your morning activity with an afternoon shower followed by a cocktail overlooking the beauty that is Khwai game reserve.
High Tea: Tea/coffee, home-made ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Head out on a game drive and bid farewell to the nocturnal sounds of the Khwai Game Reserve as you reflect on your journey thus far. Watch for lion or leopard hunting under the cover of darkness as your guide scans for game with a spotlight.
Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire.
Dinner – Enjoy a superb 3-course Dinner then relax after dinner around the campfire, where the next day’s activities will be discussed.
DAY 7: Cambium Camp Khwai Moremi
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
Today we move our camp to Moremi.
We set out on an all-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch en route to Moremi, enjoying sightings of both predator and prey along the way. Guests will enjoy the slow and relaxing drive, making rest stops to examine the day’s sightings along the way. We will stop for a picnic lunch enroute to camp where you will spend the next three nights. Your private tented camp awaits you with welcome from the Cambium Safaris team.
Arrive in the late afternoon to your newly set up camp in time for sundowners and a well-deserved shower.
Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire.
Dinner – Enjoy a superb 3-course dinner followed by a campfire serenade of the African night and get familiar with your new surroundings.
DAY 8: Cambium Camp Moremi
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Boat Trip (optional)
Depart for an early morning game drive in the Moremi Game Reserve. This ‘wildlife mecca’ offers the opportunity to encounter some of Botswana’s most iconic species. Relish in a bush traffic jam as herds of Cape Buffalo cross in search of vegetation.
Return to camp. (Time depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning game drive)
Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. Celebrate your morning activity with an afternoon shower followed by a cocktail overlooking the beauty that is Moremi game reserve.
High Tea: Coffee/Tea, home-made ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Seek out your favorite species, spotting leopards, tracking lions or checking-out cheetahs. The afternoon may be spent with the possibility of watching lions mating, bee-eaters hawking insects on the wing, or even just appreciating being out in the bush.
Return to camp before dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.

DAY 9: Cambium Camp Moremi
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Head out on an early morning game drive with your mammal books in tow. Drive to a well known hangout of a resident male leopard in hopes to see this incredible creature feasting on a kill from the night before. Head for a clearing for a Safari style picnic and G&T break. Load up the vehicle and slowly make your way back to camp, enjoying the symphony that is the African Bush along the way.
Return to camp. (Time depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning game drive)
Lunch at Camp: Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. Celebrate your morning activity with an afternoon shower followed by a cocktail overlooking the beauty that is Moremi game reserve.
Guests are advised to sort out their personal belongings in preparation for their departure the following morning (after your lunchtime shower is a good time to pack to avoid packing in the dark after the afternoon game drive or rushing the morning of departure).
High Tea: Coffee/Tea, home-made ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Enjoy an afternoon game drive, stop along the way to examine tracks of both predator and prey. Take a look through the eyes of your tracker and discuss animal behavior. Watch breeding herds of elephants feast on the surrounding vegetation with calves in tow.
Return to camp before dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.
Dinner – Gather for another superb 3-course dinner after which the following day’s activities will be discussed.
DAY 10: Cambium Camp Moremi Maun
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’, your choice of tea / coffee or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent.
Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served. After a farewell to the camp staff, guests depart to their next destination.
