DAY 1: Maun Cambium Camp Kalahari
Your scheduled flight for Maun, Botswana departs from Johannesburg or Cape Town. Upon arrival in Maun, you will clear customs and take a light aircraft charter to Xakanaxa. As soon as you walk off the tarmac you will be met by your Cambium Safaris guide in an open game drive vehicle. Game viewing starts immediately, introducing Guests to a wilderness area vastly diverse and exciting in its fauna & flora. Your private tented camp awaits you with welcome from the Cambium Safaris team.
After luggage identification, you are accompanied by a staff member to your tented accommodation for an orientation of the facilities & familiarization of the camp.
Your insect-proof meru tent with en-suite bathroom will be your home for the next three nights. Hand basins with refreshing warm water are provided.
A safety briefing will be given by your camp manager – bush safety rules & regulations including the ‘do’s & don’ts’ whilst in camp. This brief introduction highlights that wildlife is prevalent in the area and stresses that there are no safety fences enclosing the camp.
A general overview will be given of what guests can expect on a daily basis whilst on safari with us, including camp and activity schedules.
Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire and G&T’s are always made avaiable!

DAY 2: Cambium Camp Kalahari
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Head out of camp on a morning game drive with your bird books in tow. Keep an eye out for the incredible raptors that inhabit the vast Kalahari game reserve. Learn about the nesting and hunting behavior of the Southern Pied Babbler and examine the fang proof scales of the Brown Snake Eagle through your binoculars.
Stop for a coffee & snack break along the way.
Return to camp. (Time depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning game drive)
Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. After lunch you can relax in your tent or have an afternoon siesta. We recommend showers after lunch as this is the warmest part of the day.
High Tea: Tea/coffee, home-made ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Depart for a late afternoon game drive in pursuit of the big five. Stop the engine to listen for branches breaking, a clear sign of elephants in the area. Dismount the vehicle and examine lion tracks as you begin to understand the ancient art of tracking. Our incredibly knowledgeable guides will point out the smallest details that are usually missed by the untrained eye.
Return to camp. (Time depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning game drive)

DAY 3: Cambium Camp Kalahari

AM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Your Cambium Guides will set out before the morning activity departs in search of fresh predator tracks. Specifically, we will be looking for lions. With some luck, we will spend the morning taking turns tracking lions on foot. Tracking predators on foot is a truly unique experience and our expert guides help you begin to think and act like a lion!
Stop for a coffee & snack break along the way.
Return to camp. (Time depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning game drive)
Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. Celebrate your morning activity with an afternoon shower followed by a cocktail overlooking the beauty that is Savuti game reserve.
High Tea: Tea/coffee, home-made ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
Head out on a game drive and stop for a guided meditation. Bid farewell to the nocturnal sounds of the Kalahari game reserve as you reflect on your journey thus far. Watch for lion or leopard hunting under the cover of darkness as your guide scans for game with a spotlight.

DAY 4: Cambium Camp Kalahari Cambium Camp Nxai Pan
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
Today, we make the journey to the Nxai Pan Game Reserve.
We set out on an all-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch enroute to the Nxai Pan Game Reserve, enjoying sightings of both predator and prey along the way. Guests will enjoy the thrill that is driving through the Kalahari desert en route to Nxai Pan to the north.
Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire.
Dinner – Enjoy a superb 3-course dinner followed by a campfire serenade of the African night.
DAY 5: Cambium Camp Nxai Pan
An early wake-up call by the tent lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK.’ Your choice of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with walking (optional)
Head out of camp on a morning game drive in search of oryx and zebra. Witness the resilient antelope species who call this game reserve home. Witness a variety of species gather at the local watering holes and identify bird species only found in Nxai Pan! Keep your tracking books at an arm’s length as we examine tracks of both predator and pray.
Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. After lunch you can relax in your tent or have an afternoon siesta. We recommend showers after lunch as this is the warmest part of the day.

PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Head out of camp on an evening cruise searching for signs of Cheetah. Learn how to tell which direction an elephant herd is moving and what signs they typically leave behind. Take a close look at the smaller creatures that inhabit this area and better understand the importance of every species, no matter how large or small.
Enjoy a night drive on your way back to camp and look out for the nocturnal animals that may start to appear. Return to camp after dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.

DAY 6: Cambium Camp Nxai Pan
An early wake-up call by the tent lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK.’ Your choice of tea / coffee or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Depart for the early morning game drive activity within the Nxai Pan Concession. This wildlife mecca offers the opportunity of breathtaking wildlife sightings and encounters. Your guide will park the vehicle and lead you on an armed walk through the bush, about an hour long – depending on what you encounter on your adventure. Once back to your vehicle, enjoy a coffee & snack break.
Return to camp around 11:00-11:30 AM (depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning walk and game drive).
Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. After lunch you can relax in your tent or have an afternoon siesta. We recommend showers after lunch as this is the warmest part of the day.
High Tea: Tea / coffee, homemade ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Gather at the outskirts of camp to go over a safety briefing before beginning an afternoon bush walk. This time however, your guide will propose the idea of a silent walk. This is truly a unique experience and something that not many people get to experience while on safari. Spending up to two hours in complete silence while witnessing the raw beauty of the Nxai Pan game reserve is truly a unique experience.
Enjoy a night drive on your way back to camp and look out for the nocturnal animals that may start to appear. Return to camp after dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.
Dinner – Gather for another superb 3-course dinner after which the following day’s schedule will be discussed.
DAY 7: Cambium Camp Nxai Pan Maun
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
Today, we make the journey back to Maun.
We set out on an all-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch enroute to Maun, enjoying sightings of both predator and prey along the way.
Guests will work directly with Founder, Jack Anderson, on their preferred accommodation for their (1) night stay in Maun before setting off to Khwai Game Reserve.
DAY 8: Maun Cambium Camp Khwai
Your Cambium Safaris guide will meet you at your preferred luxury accommodation at a specified pickup time.
Today, we make the journey to Khwai Game Reserve.
We set out on an all-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch enroute to the Khwai Game Reserve, enjoying sightings of both predator and prey along the way.
Arrive in camp just in time for a Gin & Tonic and a tour of your new home for the next (3) nights.
Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire.
Dinner – Enjoy a superb 3-course dinner followed by a campfire serenade of the African night.
DAY 9: Cambium Camp Khwai
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’ your choice of tea / coffee or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with walking (optional)
Depart for the early morning game drive activity within the Khwai Concession. After parking the vehicle , your guide will take you on an armed walk through the bush, about an hour long – depending on what you encounter on your adventure. Once back to your vehicle, enjoy a well deserved coffee & snack break.
Return to camp around 11:00-11:30 am (depending on the wildlife sightings on the morning walk and game drive).

PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Spend the afternoon game drive exploring the vast floodplains which support a diverse variety of game and bird species. Access seldom traversed roads of this area and watch herds of elephants and a myriad of birds coming down to drink whilst the sun sets and guests enjoy their sunset drinks & snacks.
Experience a night drive on your way back to camp and look out for the nocturnal animals that may start to appear. Return to camp after dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.

DAY 10: Cambium Camp Khwai
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’ your choice of tea / coffee or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with Mokoro activity (optional)
Depart for an early morning game drive activity enroute the mokoro station, where you will depart on a two hour mokoro trip. Previously, traditional mokoros were cut-out from an ebony or sausage tree. These days, they are molded from fiber-glass in order to conserve these beautiful big trees. The mokoro is powered by a poler who stands at the back of the canoe with a ngashi or wooden pole. This amazingly stable mokoro will transport you along the vast expanse of deep reed-lined waterways. Once back to your vehicle, Guests can enjoy a coffee & snack break.

Depart for an evening game drive. Your guide will park the vehicle and lead you on a brief bush walk where you will examine a variety of plant species. Learn about the medicinal use of prominent species in the area. Enjoy an appetizer, featuring the edible plants and roots in the area!
Enjoy a night drive on your way back to camp and look out for the nocturnal animals that may start to appear. Return to camp after dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.

DAY 11: Cambium Camp Khwai Cambium Camp Moremi

Today, we make the journey to the Moremi Game Reserve.
We set out on an all-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch enroute to the Moremi Game Reserve, enjoying sightings of both predator and prey along the way. Drinks and snacks are served around the campfire.
Arrive in camp just in time for a Gin & Tonic and a tour of your new home for the next (3) nights.
Dinner – Enjoy a superb 3-course dinner followed by a campfire serenade of the African night.
DAY 12: Cambium Camp Moremi
An early wake-up call will be given by the Tent Lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity
Depart for an early morning game drive in the Moremi Game Reserve. This ‘wildlife mecca’ offers the opportunity to encounter some of Botswana’s most iconic species. Relish in a bush traffic jam as herds of Cape Buffalo cross in search of vegetation.
Around morning tea time there will be a rest stop for some coffee/tea and a snack. Should you request a comfort stop at any time, your guide will assess the wildlife presence in the area before allowing any Guests to leave the safari vehicle. Safety first!
Return to camp (time depends on the wildlife sightings during the morning game drive).
Lunch at Camp: Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon. Celebrate your morning activity with an afternoon shower followed by a cocktail overlooking the beauty that is Moremi game reserve.
After lunch you can relax in your tent or have an afternoon siesta. Showers are recommended at mid-day as this is the warmest time of the day.
High Tea: Hot Tea/coffee, home-made ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Enjoy an afternoon game drive, stop along the way to examine tracks of both predator and prey. Take a look through the eyes of your tracker and discuss animal behavior. Watch breeding herds of elephants feast on the surrounding vegetation with calves in tow.
Return to camp just before dark to basins of warm water for a brief wash before enjoying drinks and snacks around the campfire.

DAY 13: Cambium Camp Moremi
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady, who announces herself with a verbal: ‘KOKO’ or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’. Basins will be filled with hot water.
Light Continental Breakfast is served.
AM Game Drive Activity with boat trip (optional)
Head into the delta on a boat in search of the elusive Spotty Neck Otters and enjoy a picnic lunch on an island in the heart of the Delta. Do as the crocs do and bask in the sun as you enjoy a cup of coffee before heading back to the pickup location.
Back on dry land you will enjoy a game drive back to camp for another well deserved shower and a siesta, serenaded by the sounds of the bush.
High Tea: Coffee/Tea, home-made ice tea and lemonade served with something sweet and something savory.
PM Game Drive Activity with Walking (optional)
Enjoy an afternoon game drive activity. Seek out your favorite species, spotting leopards, tracking lions, or checking-out cheetahs. Witness lions mating, bee-eaters hawking insects on the wing, or even just appreciating being out in the bush.
Return to camp before dark to basins of warm water and enjoy drinks and snacks around the campfire.

DAY 14: Cambium Camp Moremi Maun
An early wake-up call by the Tent Lady who announces herself with a verbal ‘KOKO or ‘KNOCK KNOCK’, your choice of tea / coffee or hot chocolate will be delivered to your tent.

Light Continental Breakfast is served. After a farewell to the camp staff, guests depart to their next destination.
